We are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control, the State of Florida and Monroe County’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments.
The wellbeing of our guests and team members is of the utmost importance and we are taking the below steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff members.
CLEANING REGIMEN ENHANCEMENTS:
Barbary Beach House is committed to higher standards of cleanliness. Specific areas include high touch point surfaces to be sanitized with hospital grade disinfectant throughout the resort. Our staff is centering their efforts on disinfecting with increased frequency of all public areas including our lobby, Airport/ Downtown shuttles, fitness center, and restrooms.
The front desk has added partitions and social distancing decals to provide an added level of protection for its guests and associates.
Guest rooms are thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, focusing on high touch points. To prevent unnecessary touches, some amenities have been removed from your guestroom that potentially been touched by previous guests, such as coffee makers. Coffee and Tea is available at Wreckers Roast where hand sanitizing stations are present and disinfected regularly. Housekeeping services will not be scheduled during your stay to limit the amount of people entering your room. Hotel staff members are available 24/7 to assist with any requests throughout your stay.
Our food and beverage outlets has been redesigned to allow for social distancing and staff have been trained on safe food handling with increased focus on sanitizing each table before reuse. We have redesigned our food offerings, transitioning from a buffet to an a la carte menu. We are introducing a Knock N Drop dining option for in room convenience from 7:00AM-1:00PM. Fresh brewed coffee is conveniently served daily from 7:00AM-11:00AM.
Our pool and fitness center is open and hand sanitizing stations are available for use along with frequent disinfecting by our staff. We ask that you practice social distancing with guests at the resort.
To ensure the safety of our team, associates complete a Wellness questionnaire upon return from work along with daily temperature monitoring. Associates are trained on proven measures to prevent the spread of potentially infectious substances and provided with Personal Protective Equipment.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CLEANLINESS:
We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and team members. Our health and safety measures include everything from hand washing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.
We ask that anyone who feels unwell or has been in recent contact with someone with COVID-19 postpone their travel for the safety of other guests and our team members.

Per the city of Key West, all persons shall wear a form of covering over their nose and mouth at all times while inside any essential or non-essential business. Wearing a covering over the nose and mouth may include a face mask, homemade mask, or other cloth covering, such as a scarf, bandana, handkerchief or other similar cloth covering. The requirements of this subsection shall not apply to any outdoor activity permitted under any applicable City, County, or State order, except that individuals participating in any outdoor activity shall have a covering readily available to cover their nose and mouth when coming within 6 feet of any other individual that is not part of their immediate family or cohabiting living unit. Additionally, face coverings may be removed but must remain readily available during consumption at our restaurant facilities.
